Job Overview
The CPQS intern will work independently on modeling analysis, under the guidance of an assigned
mentor.
What you'll do (Specific Responsibilities)
• Conduct Literature Research:
Perform a thorough review of existing scientific literature related to pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and/or drug mechanisms relevant to the assigned project. This research will inform the development of your modeling strategy and help contextualize your analysis within the current scientific landscape.
• Develop and Refine PK/PD Models:
Build and refine pharmacokinetic and/or pharmacodynamic models using appropriate modeling tools (e.g., NONMEM, Monolix, Phoenix, R, MATLAB). Apply population modeling techniques where relevant and perform parameter estimation, model qualification, and simulations. Interpret results in the context of drug development questions.
• Present Results of Modeling Analysis:
Prepare and deliver a scientific presentation at the end of the internship summarizing your methodology, results, and interpretation. You will have the opportunity to present your work to CPQS and potentially broader scientific stakeholders at Genmab.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacology, biomedical engineering, applied mathematics, systems biology, or a related quantitative or life sciences discipline.
• Foundational Knowledge in PK/PD Modeling:
Demonstrated understanding of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling principles, including compartmental models, nonlinear kinetics, covariate analysis, and model validation approaches.
• Relevant Coursework and Technical Skills:
Completion of coursework in PK/PD modeling. Experience with software tools such as NONMEM, Monolix, and coding languages such as R, MATLAB is highly preferred.
• Analytical and Communication Skills:
Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to a range of audiences.
• Self-Motivated and Curious:
Able to work independently, manage timelines effectively, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a passion for applying quantitative methods to real-world drug development challenges.

General Intern Information - Date/Location/Schedule
Internships will take place June through August, 2025 and be based in Plainsboro, NJ. This role will operate on a required hybrid schedule - 3 days in the office and 2 days remote per week.
