Assistant Manager, Corporate Development (Project Management)
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the Corporate Development Senior Director in sourcing, managing and executing M&A transactions, joint ventures, restructurings, and divestitures. The role will work closely with Jabil's commercial teams and subject matter experts across Legal, IT, HR, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance functions. The sourcing and executing of deals will also involve interface with external partners, such as investment bankers and external consultants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare financial models to value target companies.
· Critically analyze internal and external data, using financial metrics and non-financial criteria.
· Support all stages of corporate development: candidate identification, valuation assessment, business terms development, deal negotiation, execution, manage advisors, milestone updates.
· Manage internal and external resources in executing day-to-day deal management, including, due diligence/data room and internal systems management.
· Assist with integration of mergers and acquisition activities into mainstream, where appropriate.
· Keep management informed of key current deals and changing global market M&A conditions.
· Clearly understand all operational elements of Jabil's business.
· Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.
· Exchange knowledge and information with other Jabil facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization.
· Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by senior management.
· Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Strategy and Direction:
· Know and understand the corporate strategic directions.
· Assist in the definition, development and implementation of the Corporate Development strategy, which contributes to the corporate strategic directions.
· Develop an understanding of the workcell business strategy as it pertains to Corporate Development, and work closely with the Business Units to achieve overall business objectives.
· Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
· Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
· Provide feedback to peers on cost and cost trends.
Forecast Development and Accuracy:
· Provide expense budgets when required.
· Work alongside commercial finance teams to critically analyze a target's cost structure and forecasted financial performance based on review of historical trends, market and research data, and due diligence.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
· Must be analytical and knowledgeable in accounting procedures and practices.
· Required experience performing valuation analysis, including application of valuation tools such as discounted cash flow models and other financial metrics
· Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis including ROIC, and other performance measures utilized in a typical Corporate Finance environment.
· Advanced user of Word, PowerPoint, especially EXCEL.
· Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
· Ability to solve practical problems and negotiation issues in real-time and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Able to work with a diverse population of stakeholders.
· Ability to respond to inquiries from various sources.
· Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Ability to quickly learn new systems including internal financial reporting systems as well as research tools.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor's Degree in Finance related fields. CFA, CPA, or MBA a plus.
· 3-5 years of relevant Corporate Development / Investment Banking work experience or Corporate Finance experience with high exposure to M&A required.
· Ability to have strong project management skills is vital
· Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
