Foreperson Survey Layout- Dothan, AL (Construction)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Must have at least 3 years experience performing task of a surveying crew chief directing crew members to perform the task of a survey crew. Must possess a solid understanding of al aspects of surveying. Professional surveying license is not required.
• Must be able to setup, adjust, and operate surveying instruments. Instruments may include auto levels, total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
• Wil be required to record surveying information either manually on field books or with electronic data collection instruments. Knowledge of downloading electronic information and drawing site features with CAD software is desired but not required.
• Must be capable of working from engineering drawings and plans of projects to establish lines and grades for construction purposes.
• May perform other duties such as shovel work, concrete work, maintenance of traffic
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Will ensure the safety of crew members and the public who may interact with job.
• Supervise and coordinate crew activities as well as train new crew members as needed.
• Maintain time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.

Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and 3to 5years of related survey and layout experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide ni all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability ot compute rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.
