TITLE: Lead MEMS Electrical/Test Engineer REPORTS TO: John Dancaster DEPARTMENT: Technology SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the design and development of MEMs sensor-based products to support Amphenol Sensors globally. Activities will include MEMs device and electrical interface design, prototype development, test set-ups in both development and production, characterization testing, data analysis and customer support for existing and new products. The candidate will need to keep close business interactions with technicians, engineers, sales personnel and senior management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Experience of sensor-based test and assembly equipment in both sensor development and production environments. Capable of working from broadly defined specifications to determine the appropriate sensor solution to each opportunity Develops electronic/electrical design and application solutions for Amphenol Sensors products Develop electrical circuit schematic layouts on ceramic and printed circuit board substrates Develop, implement and maintain MEMs test development hardware & software (eg LabView, Visual Basic, MatLab) Generate, communicate and release application notes, data analysis, engineering reports and management presentations Prepare and document test and assembly procedures for prototypes and products Provide test characterization analyses (eg MSA and Gauge R&R) in support of both development and production MEMs test systems Conduct, document and communicate effectively, both internally and externally, root cause and corrective action activities, failure analyses and competitive analyses. Provide ideas & drive initiatives, during design cycles and in production, to support the reduction of development cycle time, improvements in device reliability and increases in production capacity. Develop and maintain test databases to provide immediate access to data and generation of test reports Demonstrate good organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem solving, strong work ethic and a determination to work cross-functionally with others to support company goals and objectives Must be conversant with the Microsoft Office Suite of Software to provide statistical data analysis and engineering reports and management presentation updates. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: A working knowledge of typical sensor and transducer characteristics A working knowledge of MEMS-based sensors Knowledge of typical Automotive Product Introduction documentation and requirements (PPAP/DFMEA/PFMEA) Basics Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements for a semiconductor facility A working knowledge of common Software languages e.g. Visual Basic, C++, LabView, MatLab etc. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 3 years' experience of MEMs testing, characterization and electronics interface design/development. BSC or MSc in Electronics Engineering or equivalent Excellent written communication skills including documentation of product design, development, application notes covering both intercompany and customer communications Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly share ideas with others, explain technical material to a non-technical audience and provide clear and concise educational notes to relevant technical contacts. * You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.* You must be willing to work out of an office located in Fremont, CA. WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily office and development laboratory work with occasional time spent in a clean room environment wearing clean room clothing and some travel both domestic and international.
