2025 Health & Safety Intern- Machining/Aerospace - Grove, OK (Agriculture)
Opportunities and Responsibilities:
Safety Program Support:
• Assist in the development, review, and update of safety procedures, guidelines, and policies.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
• Support the implementation of corrective actions for identified safety concerns.
Data Collection and Analysis:
• Collect, organize, and analyze safety data, including incident reports and near-miss events.
• Create and maintain safety metrics, dashboards, and reports for leadership review.
Training and Awareness:
• Help coordinate and deliver safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and micro-learning initiatives.
• Develop safety communication materials, such as posters, newsletters, and digital content, to promote safety awareness.
Incident Response:
• Participate in incident investigations, documenting findings and recommendations.
• Learn and assist with root cause analysis for safety incidents.
Regulatory Compliance:
• Gain exposure to OSHA standards and other safety regulations applicable to the workplace.
• Support the maintenance of safety documentation and compliance records.
Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with safety professionals, supervisors, and employees to foster a culture of safety.
• Attend safety meetings and contribute to discussions on safety strategies and improvements.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Skills:
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
