Job Summary:
The 1st Shift Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials to achieve production goals. This includes handling, loading, unloading, and preparing materials for production or delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Safely unload trucks using provided documentation and place materials in designated locations.
- Load trucks accurately using forklifts, overhead cranes, and RF scanners, following provided documentation.
- Prepare orders by processing requests and pulling materials, packing skids or bundles, and placing orders in the delivery area.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (with wireless remotes) to handle materials.
- Accurately use RFID scanners to track inventory and orders.
- Maintain tools and equipment, including cutting and banding equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes (with wireless remotes).
- Proficiency in using RFID scanners and reading tape measures to the sixteenth. Experience with micrometers and calipers is a plus.
- Knowledge of modern warehousing practices and methods.
- Proven working experience in a warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Ability to operate cutting and banding equipment (preferred).
- Physical capability to spend 80% of the day on your feet and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, with frequent lifting or carrying of up to 25 lbs.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry weights as specified above.
