Program Director III- Graduate Admissions (Finance)
Responsible for the operations of a complex center or multiple departments at the university. Oversees staff and budgets, and projects.
1. Administers a complex center or multiple departments.
2. Manages budget and engages in strategic planning to ensure all goals are met.
3. Hires and directs the activities of staff.
4. Resolves personnel issues as they arise.
5. Engages in budget-planning, grant oversight, and policy development.
6. Implements new programs and projects and monitors ongoing activities of department or center.
7. Reviews department policies and processes and implements improvements as needed.
8. Represents department or center to internal and external constituents.
9. Performs other job-related duties as required.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.
Job Summary/Additional Duties:
This position (Director of Graduate Admissions) has responsibility for overseeing centralized graduate admissions processing for domestic and international students.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following:
• Proven experience in graduate program admissions, including managing graduate
application processing for both domestic and international students, and graduate
recruiting; experience in higher education is a plus
• Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and visual) to support domestic
and international admissions and recruitment operations.
• Experience leading and managing an admissions team.
• Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with university leadership.
• Strong service leadership qualities, including mutual respect, active listening,
responsiveness, empathy, advocacy, and transparency.
• Highly organized, capable of multitasking, and thriving in a fast-paced, high-
pressure environment, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in interpreting and applying policies and procedures clearly and
accurately.
• Skilled in developing, implementing, advocating, and evaluating processes to
achieve strategic goals for graduate recruitment programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree.
• Experience with graduate admissions, particularly international admissions
processes such as transcript analysis, I-20 issuance and SEVIS compliance.
