The HR Generalist is responsible for managing a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, recruitment, employee development, and safety initiatives for our Endicott site. This role ensures that HR processes are efficiently executed, that employees have a positive experience, that the organization is compliant with all applicable labor laws, and that the workplace remains safe. The HR Generalist also plays an active role in recognizing areas for improvement and leading initiatives to enhance HR operations, employee engagement, and overall workplace safety. Key Responsibilities: Employee Relations: Assist in addressing employee concerns and conflicts, provide guidance to managers on performance-related matters, and conduct investigations to ensure fair and consistent resolution of complaints. Ensure that HR policies are effectively communicated to employees and consistently followed by teams. Compliance & Policy Implementation: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including audits, Affirmative Action planning, and EEO-1 reporting. Stay up-to-date on employment law changes and maintain up-to-date company policies. Performance Management: Support the use of performance management tools to assist teams in setting goals and providing feedback. Facilitate performance and salary reviews, and contribute to fostering a culture of continuous feedback and development. Recruitment & Staffing: Collaborate with hiring managers to assess staffing needs, manage recruitment processes, and align HR strategies with business objectives. Training & Development: Lead the creation and delivery of training programs, identify skill gaps, and track employee progress. Support the design and implementation of employee retention strategies to support ongoing development and enhance employee engagement. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes, systems, and policies to improve efficiency and employee experience. Safety & Compliance Support: Assist in the implementation of safety policies, support accident investigations, and work alongside safety teams to help enhance workplace safety across departments and the facility. Pensions & Benefits: Administer the process for pension plan payments, ensure compliance with legal notifications, and manage all related regulatory requirements. Communicate pension benefits to employees and ensure timely and accurate processing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 4-6 years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role, with strong experience in employee relations, compliance, performance management, and recruitment. SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR/HRCI certification preferred In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices Demonstrated experience in managing employee performance, resolving conflicts, and driving HR projects. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to professionally communicate with all levels of the organization. Proficiency in HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to quickly learn new computer applications. Strong analytical skills with a proactive mindset for identifying areas for process improvement and leading initiatives to enhance HR operations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
