Senior Business Analyst and Report Writer is responsible for data administration, analysis and reporting from Electronic Health Record (EHR) and administrative data. Collaborates with end users to understand reporting requirements and uses SQL queries and other report writer software to create a variety of reports. Facilitates meetings, identifies, collects, organizes, and prioritizes data requirements and business processes changes to meet reporting requirements. Development of forms or other tools to collect data. Clarifies complex business issues and recommends solutions. Participates in miscellaneous EHR related projects.
How will I contribute
Collaborate with end-users, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements. Design and develop custom reports using Credible EHR tools and other report writing tools. Optimize report performance by fine-tuning queries and utilizing best practices. Maintain report and data collection tool inventories. Develops and maintains reporting and other EHR related documentation. System configuration and testing of new EHR features and projects. Develops testing scenarios and scripts, documents findings and tracks issues through resolution. Ensures work is technically sound and in compliance with established quality and timeliness standards. Troubleshooting and research of system issues and settings. Processing, review, quality control, and submission of data to the State. Facilitates integration of data collected outside of the EHR. Participate in EHR related projects. Collaborate with team members. Interface with customers and other departments to ensure project objectives are achieved. Respond to short turnaround times to meet internal and external customer needs. Communicate issues openly, honestly, and in a timely manner with peers, management, and customers. Collaborate with vendors to clarify and resolve tool/software functionality issues. Participate in the definition, implementation, and execution of best practices. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program.
What I bring
Bachelor Degree 3 years of previous experience as an electronic health record report writer or in a similar role in a healthcare setting. Experience leading complex analysis and infrastructure improvement projects that require advanced technical skills in SQL or other relational databases. Experience applying project management principles and practices to ensure successful outcomes. Experience with software testing and report generation. Class C Driving License Working knowledge and experience with structured data formats (e.g. CSV, pipe-delimited, JSON, XML). Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Healthcare standards HL7 (e.g ADT, CDA, FHIR). Knowledge of and/or experience with data transformation processes. Familiar with State data submissions involving structured data. Strong knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including report writing and data analysis tools. Proficient in using report and query writing languages such as SQL and other relational databases to create custom reports and optimize system performance. Familiarity with project management principles, medical coding, and regulatory compliance in healthcare settings. Strong ability to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering high-quality, detailed work within tight deadlines. Skilled at navigating ambiguity and resolving complex problems. Proficient in conducting research, making recommendations, and drawing conclusions to inform decision-making. Ability to interpret complex data and apply findings to improve processes and outcomes. Ability to interpret complex manuals, guidelines, and procedures Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively. Demonstrates a collaborative approach, working well with individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve common goals.
