Sr. Sales Tax Audit Analyst (Finance)

Linde has an immediate need for a talented Senior Sales & Use Tax Audit Analyst to join our dynamic Tax team. This position resides within our Shared Services Group and will work together with Treasury, Corporate Accounting, and other Linde business groups. The location for this role may be either Danbury, CT or Tonawanda, NY. We are dedicated to minimizing time spent processing data and enhancing the professional growth of our team members. Sales Tax Audit Analyst Responsibilities: - Management and oversight of all sales and use tax audits for all Linde divisions. - Regular maintenance of sales tax audit calendar and status update reports. - Gather/manage requested information to respond to IDR, including sales tax returns, exemption certificates, & invoices for sales & purchases. - Prepare and facilitate execution of Power of Attorney forms and Waivers. - Review proposed audit assessments. - Engage in negotiations with auditors & manage protests in accordance with guidance from direct manager. - Conduct comprehensive tax research and analysis on various sales/use tax issues to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions. - Assist in the processing of customer refund requests. - Provide general sales and use tax support to Linde businesses. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field. - Minimum of 5 years of Sales Tax experience in either a large industry or Big 4 Public Accounting with a Manufacturing or retail background preferred. - Solid PC skills and experience with various financial & tax systems/applications (Excel/Oracle/JDEwards/SAP/Vertex). - Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements utilizing innovative solutions. - Strong technical background that includes an understanding of the relationship between sales and use tax technical issues and solutions and the compliance process. - Proficiency with the use of tax research tools such as CCH. - Self-motivated and able to work cross functionally in a matrix organization. - Ability to drive value and minimize tax within the sales tax function. - Strong experience managing multiple projects and priorities. - Excellent research, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
