Academic Advisor 2 (Finance)
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

This position works in the Department of Accountancy & Taxation at the C. T. Bauer College of Business. This position engages with students to advise them on academic requirements for degree progress, course selection, policies, procedures, and resources based on an assessment of individual student needs.
Successful candidates will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, work well under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects while remaining flexible and positive. This will require exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Further, successful candidates will effectively communicate with all levels of management and fellow employees and be able to manage multiple employer relationships.
Position includes the following responsibilities but not limited to:
• Advise students for both online and traditional/in-person graduate accounting programs.
• Manage a high work volume with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Process academic forms and letters for a graduate accounting program.
• Plan and execute events such as orientation, mixers, graduation, etc.
• Assist with Bauer convocation each Fall and Spring semester
• Assist with recruitment events such as open house, new student socials, etc.
• Be adaptable to change, as constant improvements are being made in advising.
The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with the potential for certain days to be 9am-6pm. Occasional travel and special events may occur outside of the normal business working hours, including some Saturdays. As much advance notice as possible will be given.
Preferences: Experience in/with academic advising for graduate students.
