Field CTO - Edge Computing & Data Protection (Sales)

  • Market engagement support (aligned w/BD and Channel – i.e. Spring Healthcare / Ingram DC event)
• Competitive Market Feedback
  • Vendor assessments with Engineering
  • Industry Events and Evaluation
  • Lab implementations and bake-offs
  • Customer Recommendations and QBR engagement
• Product Development and Innovation Fund
  • POV Leadership and GTM support
  • Business Case support and submission (w/Product)
  • Contributors to Vendor assessments (w/Engineering)
  • Product Design and Test Criteria
  • Vendor Partnerships and Support definition (i.e. Scale Computing)
  • Early Product documentation
• Education & Knowledge Transfer
  • Cross functional Product partnering
  • Engineering support and vendor evaluation
  • 3^rd Party Lab testing
  • Deal support and architectural design docs
  • SA Training and enablement
• Solution Design
  • Work closely with Sales Executives to understand business requirements and uncover technical challenges and constraints of our clients and prospects.
  • Design and architect end-to-end technology solutions, leveraging technologies like Scale Computing, Edge Computing, Micro services, Data Protection, Veeam and Acronis replication.
  • Develop detailed technical Designs and Documentation, including pre-sales diagrams.
• Technical Leadership
  • Provide Technical leadership and guidance throughout the sales lifecycle, ensuring that solutions align with industry and OTAVA best practices.
  • Collaborate with teams across OTAVA, including product, engineering, and implementation to deliver a high-quality solution and experience.
  • Provide constructive feedback to OTAVA management, informing the company of trends in client business challenges and help steer OTAVA solutions to meet those needs.
• Customer Engagement
  • Serve and be seen as a trusted advisor to our clients, offering expertise and recommendations.
  • Present technical solutions effectively and address customer concerns

 Experience

• 4+ years in a previous solution architecture/pre-sales engineering role
• Additional years of experience in Technology Sales preferred
• Additional years of experience in non-sales technical operations or engineering preferred
• Experience with Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions such as Veeam and Zerto

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Able to explain clearly and concisely and justify ideas when faced with competing alternatives or opposing viewpoints
• Must be able to present effectively in front of large groups, both technically and non-technically oriented audiences, and including C-level decision makers
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as VMware and Hypervisor market
• Strong understanding of network architecture and design, experience with HCI infrastructure is a bonus
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and presentation abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, technical field, or equivalent experience

License or Certification (willing to complete in established timeframe)

Preferably looking for candidates with the following technical certifications:

• Scale Computing Technical certifications
• VMware Certified Professional and additional relevant VMware Certifications
• Any additional relevant technical certifications will be given additional consideration.

All hired candidates will be expected to have earned a set list of certifications after completing the first year of employment with OTAVA.
