Description:
The C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston is seeking a talented and creative Videographer to join its dynamic Office of Communications team.
This position is integral to supporting the college's internal and external communications, marketing, advertising, social media, public relations and creative services. The ideal candidate is a skilled visual storyteller with a passion for capturing moments that showcase the energy, innovation and excellence of Bauer College students, faculty, staff, alumni, partners and programs.
The ideal candidate will have strong skills in short-form video production, capturing live events and producing editorial content for various platforms. This position plays a key role in creating compelling video collateral for Bauer social media, website, email communications, in-house digital signage and marketing/advertising campaigns.
Successful candidates will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, work well under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects while remaining flexible and positive. This will require exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Further, successful candidates will effectively communicate with all levels of management and fellow employees and be able to manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
Position includes the following responsibilities but not limited to:
1. Video Production & Editing: Produce, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for use across digital and social media platforms, including promotional materials, print and digital ads, the biannual college magazine, the college website, email communications and other collateral.
2. Creative Short-Form Video Development: Develop creative, short-form videos that align with social media trends and best practices, leveraging video aspects of platforms such as Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
3. Event Coverage & Filming: Capture footage of key events, speeches and presentations across the college.
4. Collaboration with Teams: Collaborate with communications, marketing, multimedia and social media staff to create videos that align with strategic goals and enhance storytelling.
5. Brand Consistency & Quality Control: Ensure all video content reflects the college's brand and maintains high production standards.
6. Asset Management: Manage and organize video assets, including raw footage, edited content and archival material.
7. Industry Trends & Innovation: Stay up to date with video production trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve video content.
Preferences:
• Proven experience in videography, including shooting, editing and producing video content.
• Expertise in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of social media video formats, trends, and audience engagement strategies.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in shooting live events, as well as creating high-quality, polished content for marketing and editorial purposes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for storytelling through video.
• Experience in higher education or corporate photography.
• Knowledge of video production and editing.
• Experience with motion graphics or animation is a plus.
• Familiarity with DSLR and other video equipment, including lighting and audio gear.
• Knowledge of video optimization for social media platforms.
• Proficiency in portrait photography, headshots, and event coverage, with the ability to complement video content through high-quality still imagery.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience
