Automation Program Lead (Biotech)

Overview:
The Automation Program Lead supports the Automation Engineering team by developing and managing MES/Controls/OT schedules for GMP readiness, tech transfers, continuous improvements, and other business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain project schedules, including MES/documentation timelines, for tech transfers and campaign readiness.
Support scheduling for downloads and standard work, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders (e.g. Manufacturing).
Manage competing priorities and proactively address potential delays.
Prepare project documentation (goals, scope, design deliverables, change control, cost estimates).
Lead engineering projects aligned with strategic objectives and operational needs.
Advise teams to resolve technical challenges and meet deadlines.
Provide ongoing support for manufacturing automation systems.
Represent automation in IPT/JPT meetings for Lonza Portsmouth.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (required) with experience in automated manufacturing (biologics preferred).
Strong background in MES, Controls, and manufacturing.
Proven ability to develop schedules, identify risks, and manage projects. (PMP Certification Preferred)
Expertise in continuous improvement and Quality Risk Management (QRM).
Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Familiarity with CAPA processes, change controls, deviations, and regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities:
Scheduling & Coordination: Lead scheduling for tech transfers, pre-campaign efforts, and continuous improvements.
Problem Identification: Gather information, identify issues, and facilitate problem resolution across teams.
Project Collaboration: Represent Automation in IPT/JPT meetings to align with project goals.
Change Control: Oversee change controls and ensure compliance.
CAPEX & Tech Transfer: Coordinate with CAPEX and tech transfer teams for timely automation system delivery.
Safety & Training: Adhere to safety standards and maintain required training/certifications.
Quality & CAPA: Assist Quality department with deviation investigations, perform engineering reviews, and manage CAPA actions.
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks to meet organizational needs.
