The Plant Manager will lead the day-to-day operation of the Winsted, CT Machining facility to accomplish budgeted financial objectives and customer requirements. Responsible for planning and performance in Sales, Human Resources, Purchasing, Finance, Manufacturing, EH&S, Engineering and Quality. This position is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence in support of short-term and long-range business objectives and strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead multi-disciplined plant team in meeting monthly forecasts and all appropriate business metrics in a continuous improvement spirit.
Directs and guides the tactical activities of the business unit including, but not limited to, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, financial, human resources, and operational aspects with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability for the Winsted, CT location.
Develop strategic manufacturing direction and planning for 1-to-3-year planning horizon utilizing lean manufacturing techniques, automation, and Kaizen disciplines.
Ensures that effective business unit systems, procedures and financial controls are established and maintained for the business unit's operations.
Reviews and directs the development of new market opportunities and requirements for existing products and new products, bringing these for approval to senior management at the appropriate time. Develops an awareness for the customer's product and service needs and maintains or enhances customer relations.
Provides clear leadership on issues related to asset management, such as inventory, accounts receivable, fixed assets, etc., to optimize asset utilization.
Takes action to correct unsatisfactory conditions that may arise in any phase of the business unit operation and directs necessary actions to accomplish forecasted objectives.
Provides mentorship and leadership for seven "Lead Team" members in Winsted (Operations, Engineering, Finance, EH&S, HR, Sales and Planning) and the Plant Manager in Branford.
Maintains high ethics and values in the workplace.
Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
