Superintendent (nights) (Project Management)
Support safety hazard risk assessment, safety observations and safety improvements through the reduction or elimination of safety hazard risks.
Foster safe work behaviors through training, coaching and competency development.
Hold associates accountable for safe work behaviors and standard procedures.
Key contributor with safety incident documentation, investigation and incident resolution.
Quality
Ensure Quality and Food Safety (QFS) policies and procedures are followed by staff.
Support Right First-Time manufacturing KPI's and communication by striving to make products that meet customer specifications as defined in Dynamics AX.
Minimize product holds by supporting the proper execution of Quality Orders by Production staff.
Understand why the policies and processes are in place. Be able to explain to your associates.
Make sure quality documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Support quality audits as requested.
Perform formal and informal sanitation and GMP audits to assure compliance with Horseshoe Beverage and Governmental Policies.
Adhere to SQF guidelines and principles.
People
Provide leadership and direction to engage Production Supervisors, Coordinators, direct labor and temporary workers in delivery of daily business objectives.
Drive delivery of departmental Key Performing Indicators (KPI's) through scorecards.
Assist in cleaning and ensuring accurate data for Daily Operational Reviews (DORs) and Weekly Operational Reviews (WORs) in terms of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and cost KPIs.
Model a positive, resilient, and results oriented approach, providing recognition and praise to encourage positive work behaviors.
Ensure appropriate training and competency development of staff with regular updating to the Skills Matrix and coordinating with Training department.
Hold individuals accountable for their respective job tasks in terms of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost.
Use appropriate progressive counseling or performance feedback tools to address gaps in safety, quality, productivity, customer service, or cost expectations as needed.
Lead/coordinate finding the better way in production scheduling with the Supply Chain.
Manage the performance of night shifts through the assessment of individual goals and objectives with documented feedback.
Process & Resource
Manage departmental resources effectively to deliver safety, quality, people, and productivity KPIs. Adjust required resources according to justified schedule changes, with communication/documentation to appropriate crews.
Generate, lead, or contribute to process improvement activities and root cause analysis (RCA) with actions and accountability.
Support improvements and engage staff to find a better way to reduce planned or unplanned downtime.
Lead material waste improvement initiatives in operations.
Lead reduction in the production of defects and rework.
Work cross-functionally with the supply chain to reduce unnecessary inventory, overproduction or over-processing.
Lead master sanitation schedule improvement and 5S adherence throughout the facility.
Support new products, ingredients, packaging, equipment, or process qualification / commercialization trials as needed to meet business demands.
Support Quality and Food Safety (QFS) procedures as well as the Master Sanitation Schedule.
Review e-mail and phone correspondence and follow up as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in operations, engineering, business, management or related area of study, preferred.
5+ years of managerial experience with strong leadership qualities, proven history of delivering sustainable results.
7+ years plant manufacturing experience in a food industry or related manufacturing facility.
Demonstrated time management, prioritization and organizational skills
Must have food manufacturing experience
Knowledge of Food Plant GMP's and SOP's
Ability to evaluate and apply sound judgment in making critical decisions
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
Self-starter - high energy, results oriented
High orientation for continuous improvement
Must have effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills - ability to maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers
Experience in using ERP systems
Strong Excel, Word, Access skills
Hours, Location and Pay:
We offer a competitive base pay rate and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. This role works a night shift schedule at our Neenah, WI manufacturing facility.
Physical and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, hear, use hands to type data, use a personal computer and telephone. This employee may occasionally have to operate business machines and lift and/move up to 50 pounds.
