Responsibilities
Analyzehigh-cost medication orders and identify areas where cost saving can be achieved through drug interchange while ensuring patient safety.Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff when necessary.Perform medication review to ensure appropriate use and identify cost saving interventions.Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration.Efficientlycommunicatingwith Nursing homes and physicians via, phone, fax and email for therapeuticinterchange recommendations, and high-cost orders clarifications. Clinical skills needed: medical history, therapies and laboratory data, etc.Utilize MicrosoftExcel to run hourly reports for dispensed high-cost medication and keep track of potentialsavings.Having a desire to get more knowledgeabout different pharmacy aspects.Complete any other task assigned by theCost Containment

Qualifications
Licensed Pharmacist in the State of FloridaLong Term Care experience preferredPrevious experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fieldsStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detailStrong organizational skillsMicrosoft Excel knowledge skillsFramework / ECM software knowledge a plus
