Spec- Occupational Health & Safety (Finance)
Minimum Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Graduate Safety Professional preferred.
Candidate must be willing to complete certification within 6 months of hire.
Minimum Required: 1 - 2 Years equivalent experience.
Preferred: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience.Program Support:
• Conducts routine safety inspections and audits within UC Health facilities and documents findings.
• Promotes a Culture of Safety (Employee Safety) at UC Health facilities aligning with Patient Safety.
• Identify and address potential safety issues, risks and hazards and provide corrective action plans.
• Respond to any OSHA complaints and/or inspections.
• Monitor employee safety practices and regulations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws. Verify that staff are compliant with these practices and regulations, as supported by Accreditation - Joint Commission, ODH, OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
• Investigate employee incidents to determine root cause and contributing factors.
• Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs for all locations and submit annually as required for regulatory compliance.
• Supports Manager in ensuring effective execution and administration of employee safety program at organization, within Clinical Domains and other groups to facilitates efforts to achieve overall quality in safety,
• Escalate safety concerns to director, manager, operational leaders, and site senior leaders, as appropriate in a timely manner (as soon as possible, expected to be within same business day - even when full details are not known).
• Provides support as needed for incident reviews and Root Cause Analysis. This may include but is not limited to conducting or assisting in interview and investigation of suspected safety events or partnering with teams to perform detailed cause analysis and identify opportunities for improvement efforts.
• Utilizes evidence-based practices to adhere to benchmarks set forth by regulatory agencies to drive improvement.
Data and Analytics:
• Conduct hazard assessments and job safety analyses.
• Prepare monthly reports, including Environment of Care and employee injury reports.
• Performs data analysis and trends of employee safety program data.
• Collaborates with team members on safety initiatives to perform thorough trending and analysis of events, errors, and near misses.
Training and Education:
• Determine and develop safety related training,
• Provides safety training and education to staff on safety topics.
