Licensed, Behavioral Health Clinician (Team Lead) - Newton Outpatient - Covington, GA (Personal Services)

The Behavioral Health Team Leader is the working supervisor for a team of clinicians, med providers &/or paraprofessionals staff providing mental health &/or substance use disorders treatment services. Under supervision learns to perform psychosocial assessments, treatment planning/monitoring and discharge planning. Provides counseling/therapy to clients requiring complex intervention. Performs commitment determinations and/or executes orders of involuntary commitments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides supervision to subordinate staff, including service plan and documentation reviews for conformity to agency and payer requirements. Appropriately interprets, implements, and enforces compliance with agency policies and procedures and safety regulations.May assist with applicant interviews and hiring process. Trains and evaluates performance of staff. Schedules staff coverage. Approves leave requests and follows and implements agency policies regarding use of leave, communicates with payroll for any leave or pay adjustments.Ensure QA standards are met - including service plan and documentation reviews for conformity to agency and payer requirements, write performance evaluations and individual development plans.Participates in the hiring of staff; provides supervision to direct reports; completes performance assessments and coaches staff with performance improvement.Provides clinical supervision to team clinicians and provides therapeutic services to clients.Adheres to agency standards with clinical documents and ensure team is following standards as well as checking Carelogic alerts.May assist with agency quarterly Peer Reviews.Assists with client transfers and referrals.Completes diagnostic formulations and appropriate assessments for children &/or adolescents with behavioral health disorders.Collaboratively formulate SMART treatment plans to address issues identified in assessment.Participate in play therapy supervision and utilize play therapy in sessions with clients.Provides evidenced-based therapeutic interventions to children, adolescents and families.Assist client/family in identifying, developing, and sustaining appropriate natural support systems.Communicate with outside agencies/providers as needed (i.e., schools, IEP team) Provide psychoeducation to family around mental health, trauma, recovery.Collaborate with other behavioral health and physical health providers to holistically address client needs.Complete all required documentation (daily clinical notes, assessments, treatment plans) in an accurate and timely manner (agency standard 24 hrs.)Participate in regular team meetings to collaborate regarding shared clients, build and practice new skills, and stay up to date on agency administrative information.Participate in clinical supervision to increase competence and professional development.Participate in on-call rotation to provide after hour coverage, via phone.Completes annual training requirements as outlined by agency and/or supervisor.Performs other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Outpatient After-hours Call Rotation Clinicians are expected to assist in coverage of after-hours outpatient client calls via phone only. Rotations are for one week and the frequency of rotation is dependent on the number of staff covering the calls. An additional supplement is provided to staff that cover a weekly shift.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND full clinical licensure in the state of Georgia (LCSW, LPC)Previous supervisory experienceMust pass criminal records fingerprint check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Carelogic or other EHR/EMR Previous experience working with SPMI, SUD and/or co-occurring disorders
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.Requires long periods of sitting/standing.Must have valid Georgia drivers license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilitiesOther duties as assigned.
