Analyst II, IT Assets (Finance)

The City of Fort Collins is seeking a dedicated mid-level Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst to enhance, develop, and mature our ITAM practices. This role is crucial for managing both hardware and software assets data throughout the entire lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable, practical work experience managing data at scale using such tools as MS Power BI, SQL, Excel, and other analytical tools to collect, analyze, and visualize IT asset data, providing actionable insights to optimize asset utilization and lifecycle management. They will have a background in hardware and software licensing and contract management and/or experience in other asset management capacities which will translate to IT asset management. They will have the ability to comfortably use, interpret, and manipulate datasets to identify trends and support decision making. They will have experience developing automated reporting and dashboards to improve ITAM transparency and efficiency.
As a key member of the City of Fort Collin's ITAM team, the ITAM Analyst will report directly to the Senior Analyst - IT Assets. This position requires working from a City location to effectively collaborate with team members and manage IT assets. However, a hybrid work arrangement is available after an on-boarding period, offering a combination of on-site and remote work to ensure flexibility while meeting organizational needs.

Develops and maintains a current comprehensive data inventory of assets and condition assessment of those assets to improve coordination and communication within IT and improve the process for accurate asset data management from procurement to retirement (lifecycle).Accounts for and maintains all IT data assets through identification and auditing of assets, location of assets, levels of service, and condition of assets to maintain warranty, refresh technology platforms, and capture end of life cycle and other pertinent asset management information.Assists in developing purchasing strategies identifying and recommending vendor agreement savings opportunities to Senior Analyst, IT Assets, IT Asset Manager and IT ITAM Team.Verifies completed projects meet established program goals and standards defined within asset management program.Partner effectively with the IT ITAM Team, IT, and City service units to maintain accurate accounting of IT assets.Collects and analyzes data on IT infrastructure assets to include replacement history, repairs, and failures of hardware, software license and application usage, and inventory.Utilizes effective communication skills to collaborate across multi-discipline IT and City service units, divisions, and work groups to cultivate a standard approved approach to IT asset management.Documents standards, processes, and procedures for IT asset management.Provides professional and technical assistance to IT and external customers to explain, interpret, and create City of Fort Collins IT asset management requirements, specifications, and standards.Works collaboratively in an equitable, diversified team environment for successful outcomes.Keeps current on the latest trends in information technology industry asset management principles, practices, procedures,
