Bagging/Pack-Out Line Operator (Manufacturing)
REPORTS TO: Packing & Distribution Manager
STATUS: Regular; Non-Exempt; Full-Time
SCHEDULE Monday - Friday, 6 am to 2 pm, with occasional Saturdays

Meals on Wheels provides a network of services that allow seniors to live in their homes with dignity and independence as long as possible.
POSITION SUMMARY: Must have the ability and experience to work under pressure, follow developed menu and recipes as assigned with the ability to work in a high-volume kitchen. The Bagging/Pack-Out and Tray Line Operator will have a high attention to detail and maintain high standards for quality, cleanliness, presentation, food safety, sanitation and efficiency.
This position requires working 6 am - 2 pm or until all meals are accurately and properly completed and stored. Overtime hours and working weekends and holidays may be required in order to successfully fill or return kitchen orders to storage as needed. Job requires working in Cold Storage and Freezer.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Able to read, write and communicate effectively, as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations
Some kitchen experience preferred. (High volume production preferred)
Demonstrate strong understanding of kitchen systems, operations, procedures and policies.
Must be innovative and have the ability to make suggestions for changes to the operation as needed to further improve the work environment and unit performance.
Must pass pre-employment testing (Background Check, Physical Abilities Test)
CA Food Handler's Certification required within 30 days of hire
Must be 18+ years of age
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow the menu production schedule. Coordinating and staging ingredients for meals. Assembling high volume and high-quality food in a timely manner. After each assigned food task is completed refrigerate or place in freezer as needed.
Stage your workstation with all necessary food components for meal production.
Portion according to menu. Assemble meals on appropriate racks and move to appropriate storage. Attention to packaging with proper food description and use by date label on each meal pack. Attention to detail regarding food presentation, quality, label and dating, kitchen cleanliness and safety.
Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures. Any cooler or freezer temperature discrepancies immediately report to lead or management)
Communicate with the lead or runner to maintain sufficient food and supplies at hand keeping a continued packaging production flow.
Check for freshness of food and discard spoiled, adulterated or out-of-date items. Maintain FIFO on inventories of food and ingredients.
Meet daily production deadlines. All meals must be accurately and properly completed, stored in proper refrigeration or freezer storage as needed and ready for assembly, which may require working overtime.
Become familiar with the different types of meals offered.
Prepare for the following days production. Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts.
Ensure all production areas conform to health and safety standards, product specifications, policies and procedures for all menu items, and ingredients.
At each workstation you are required to set up cleaner and sanitizer solutions and a clean rag with each bucket. Change when dirty or as per SOP policy. Follow Manufacturer's recommendation concentration levels. Empty buckets at the end of shift.
Ensure that the food prep areas, counters, equipment, and floors are free of food and debris. Cleaned and sanitized at the beginning of the shift, before leaving workstation for breaks and at end of shift.
Attend regular meetings with all production staff.
Communicate with staff and management in a positive and productive manner.
This position requires working in Cold Storage and Freezer.
Other duties as assigned.
SALARY/HOURS: This position is regular, full-time, non-exempt scheduled for 40 hours per week.
