Provides strategic and overall coordination for client development in the market, advising the Market President on client retention and client acquisition.
In addition to the job responsibilities of the Senior Wealth Strategist (below), the Director of Wealth Strategies will:
1. Analyze opportunities to attract HNW and UHNW clients in Dallas.
2. Design and/or advise on marketing and communication opportunities to attract and secure HNW and UHNW clients in the Dallas area including strategic speaking and media opportunities for the Market President and the Senior Vice President of Wealth Strategies, Dallas.
3. Design a comprehensive strategy for attracting and securing HNW and UHNW clients from referral sources such COI's, potential business exit opportunities, philanthropic and family engagement themed convenings.
4. Design and/or advise the Market President on support and participation in philanthropic and social organizations in Dallas that would allow Northern Trust the most connection to clients and potential clients.
Senior Wealth Strategist Job Description Summary
Seeks prospective client families for Northern Trust Wealth Management who are characterized by large and complex or sensitive financial circumstances. Coordinates Northern Trust specialist partners to devise solutions for prospective family's issues and follows through to complete sale of Northern Trust services. Maintains ongoing contact with clients and promotes relationship enhancement opportunities through relationship managers.
Job Description/Major Duties :
1. Sells bank services to prospective clients focusing on investment management, trust administration, banking and advisory services.
2. Utilizes business and personal contacts to identify prospective clients.
3. Researches prospects' financial picture to understand full balance sheet and determine how to best provide service.
-Analyzes property/assets and obligations/liabilities to understand complete personal financial enterprise.
-Summarizes account assets to determine eligibility, qualifications, and tax classification.
4. Consults with clients, their attorneys, and other financial advisors to determine the appropriate plan for estate taxes. Utilizes knowledge of inheritance gift, income, and estate taxes.
5. Develops rapport with prospects and arranges meetings to continue the sales process.
6. Presents solutions to prospective client or designated liaison (e.g. attorney, CPA, etc.). Responds to questions, consulting Northern Trust partners for additional product/service information when necessary.
7. Maintains current in-depth knowledge of a full range of planning strategies and services (e.g. personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, security custody, financial consulting, estate, and tax planning).
8. Develops and maintains an understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to investment, banking, and fiduciary services.
9. Initiates and follows through on any request for loan, checking, or savings account services by introducing banking and operations areas as appropriate.
10. Maintains periodic contact with client and acts as a liaison between the client and the rest of the bank for various activities (e.g. setting up accounts, facilitating transactions).
11. Identifies and closes relationship expansion opportunities within other areas of the bank.
12. Sets personal sales goals with manager based on sales history and product knowledge.
13. Represents personal financial planning in various business councils and task forces, (e.g. personal fiduciary service, investment management, financial consulting).
14. Participates in related seminars/presentations and product knowledge training for bank partners.
Knowledge :
Knowledge of Northern Trust products and services (e.g. estate and tax planning, trust administration, investment management, banking (loans and deposits), and security custody, including fee structures and documentation, acquired through work experience is required to respond to the issues that arise during sales calls.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations that apply to personal fiduciary, and estate and tax planning services acquired through formal education and work experience is required to consult with clients.
Analytical and sales skills are required to relate individual customer asset situations to specific products.
Interactive skills are required to comprehend prospect needs and respond with the appropriate solutions.
Experience : 5-7 years of trust sales or trust relationship management.
